Toho Beads Manufactured From Czech Bead Factory

Manufactured czech glass beads can be manufactured in more than just druks, drops, and daggers, but more abstract and unique shapes. There are thousands of shapes to choose from and that doesn’t include the various sizes of each shape. On top of that there are hundreds of colors that can be combined with coatings, lusters, and metal finishes. With all these choices there are literally millions of possible combinations. New technology in glass making allows colors to be combined in new and innovative ways like never before. As an example, consider HurriCane that mixes colors together in changing appearances, and is made from the conditions during glass pressing. Every batch has it’s own unique variations which make it difficult to reproduce.

Wholesale glass beads have become increasingly popular because of their versatility and limitless possibilities. These beads form intricately detailed shapes full of vibrant swirls of color with clarity and shine takes years of training and practice. The quality hinges heavily on the skill and experience of the bead presser. The final quality is always strikingly apparent from one craftsman to another.

During production in a beads factory, the end of a long rod of glass cane is heated in a gas furnace until it is red hot. Then it is inserted into a machine press which looks like an old sewing machine. While red hot, the glass quickly pressed in a mold, while a needle is inserted to create the hole. Since the glass cools quickly the bead maker will usually work with multiple canes at once. As the glass cane goes down a slide it cools slowly before going into a holding container. The pressed beads barely resemble real beads at this time since they are still connected to one another by excess glass. The excess glass and imperfections are then removed using several stages of tumbling.
